  • One-Stop Web Site for Prescription Assistance

As you know, some manufacturers of prescription drugs offer free or reduced-price medicines to patients in need. But applying for these programs has been difficult, with separate applications and different requirements for each.

To try to simplify the process, the pharmaceutical industry has created a new one-stop web site and phone number where a patient can easily locate assistance programs for the specific medicines they need, and fill out a single application for multiple programs.

The web site is at www.pparx.com. Or, call 1-888-477-2669 to apply for assistance by phone.

Interpreters are available at that phone number to help applicants in almost any language. (Callers will be asked if they speak English or Spanish - selecting either option will connect them with someone who can bring an interpreter on the line for other languages.)

This program is not a comprehensive answer to the high cost of prescription medicines. But it can be very helpful to those who qualify. Please pass this on to anyone you know who could benefit from this assistance.
