Nominations for state poet, musician, and artists
Do you know of an exceptional poet, musician or artist from our area? The Texas Commission on the Arts is seeking nominations for the titles of state poet laureate, state musician, state two-dimensional artist and state three-dimensional artist. The titles are awarded annually. State artists receive statewide recognition, the opportunity to participate in Commission promotions and events, and a chance to promote arts education. Any Texan can nominate up to three artists in each category, but cannot nominate themselves. Nominations must be postmarked by Sept. 11, 2006.
