Get Help Signing Up for Low-Cost Prescriptions this Friday
A group of drug companies have teamed up to provide a one-stop system to apply for low-cost or free prescriptions from as many as 475 different assistance programs. They're bringing staff to our area this Friday to help people sign up. The Partnership for Prescription Assistance will have computer terminals, telephones, and trained personnel in their bus in front of the Houston Community College campus, 5601 West Loop South (between Fournace and Westpark), this Friday, Oct. 20, 10:00am-Noon. If you can't get to the event, you can sign up for assistance anytime on line at www.pparx.com. Or, call 1-888-477-2669 to apply for assistance by phone. Interpreters are available at that phone number to help applicants in almost any language. This program is not a comprehensive answer to the high cost of prescription medicines. But it can be very helpful to those who qualify. Please pass this on to anyone you know who could benefit from this assistance.
