Recognize a Great Teacher or Principal
The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards are the premier awards in Texas for recognizing great public school teachers, principals and districts. Each year, H-E-B awards more than $500,000 in cash prizes in amounts ranging from $1,000 to as much as $25,000 per teacher, with matching amounts to each winning teacher's school. Teachers can win awards in 3 categories: Rising Star, Leadership, and Lifetime Achievement. Principals can win in two categories: Elementary and Secondary. Nominations are currently being accepted and will be accepted through December 19. Nominated educators and districts will then have until January 11 to submit their completed applications. I have attended the award ceremony for these prizes and I assure you that the stories of these teachers' efforts are inspiring. If you know a teacher who is making an extraordinary difference in the lives of the children they serve, please consider nominating them for these prestigious awards. For details and nomination forms, please see www.heb.com, or stop by any H-E-B store. As always, let me know if we can help in any way. Sincerely,
Scott Hochberg
