Free Child Safety Seat Checkups This Thursday in Sharpstown
Children who are younger than 5 years old and shorter than 3 feet tall are required by law to be in a child safety seat whenever they are passengers in a car. Safety experts recommend these seats for children as old as 8. While many parents use child safety seats for their children, one study found that 4 out of 5 of these seats are used incorrectly. Because using a child safety seat correctly is important, State Farm Insurance is sponsoring a free child safety seat checkup in Sharpstown this Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 1:00-5:00 pm, at the Burlington Coat Factory / Baby Depot location at 7555 Bellaire (just west of the Southwest Freeway).
If you show up with your child safety seat, a certified technician will
check your seat for various safety-related items including: As appropriate, the technicians will review how to install the seat properly and how to correctly harness the child into the seat. If the seat is inappropriate for the child, State Farm will provide a new car seat. Please pass this along to any parents and organizations that would find this information useful. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
